Mammoth Bone Oblique Pen Holder

Description

This custom pen holder is made with rare and beautiful materials.  The grip area is crafted from resin that encases ancient mammoth bone fragments estimated to be around 60,000 years old.  These fragments were found in a local excavation site of a complete mammoth skeleton (which now resides in a museum).  The landowner collected the unusable fragments to create this gorgeous resin stock. This material was only available in one local store, so supply is extremely limited.  This holder will be an impressive addition to any collection, and makes a wonderful conversation piece.

Made of mammoth bone matrix, ebony, American holly, and 22K gold leaf, then finished with clear gloss lacquer.

Fitted with hand formed Zanerian style brass flange formed to fit the Nikko G.
I have a collection of over 30 nibs and will fit the flange upon request to suit your needs.

Specs:  7″ long
9/16″ max dia.
7/16″ at grip

All WLC custom pen holders use a meticulous, multi-stage finishing process.  First, each pen is sprayed multiple times with professional equipment and a state of the art 2-part lacquer. Next, the piece must be cured in a climate controlled environment.  After the finish has cured there is a multi-step process to remove any imperfections before finally hand polishing each pen.  This is the same process that is used by many of the world’s top craftsman, including Casper Guitars and Steinway & Sons Piano Co.

Please Notice: The photo of this pen shows an  unfinished flange and no peg because I allow customization of the flange or an upgrade to a bullock flange.  The hole and flange slot are sealed and there will be a sealed peg installed before shipping.

***pen nib not included, used for display only
***leather case may very slightly from photo due to variations in dying
